Apple announced a completely new iMac: the iMac Pro

Apple is focusing on pro users again with the release of new high-end desktop computer: the iMac Pro, unveiled on stage at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose. The iMac Pro is a powerful, familiar-looking all-in one, decked in space gray color — and the company says it is the most powerful Mac ever. Last year, Apple’s SVP of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller, promised that Apple would produce iMacs specifically for the professional customer.

The iMac Pro comes with a 5K display and a sleek Space Grey color design that even goes down to the keyboard itself. It displays that are 500 nits, with 1 billion colors. That is 43 percent brighter than the previous generation. With an all-new thermal design and all-flash architecture, the Pro offers up to 80 percent more cooling capacity in the same thin and seamless iMac design. The new iMac Pro will feature four Thunderbolt 3 ports with support for up to two 5K displays, a 1080 pixel FaceTime camera, realtime 3D rendering, and much more.

Performance wise, Apple claims the iMac Pro is more powerful than the existing Mac Pro and ships with an 8-core Xeon processor, iMac Pro is designed to handle the most demanding pro workflows. And if you really want to trick things out, you can customize it and enjoy 10 cores or even 18 cores. The iMac Pro can support up to 128GB of RAM , along with Radeon Pro Vega graphics processor — and it is apparently enough for up to 11 Teraflops of single precision processing power.

This description meaning, that the new all-in-one PC will competition the current Mac Pro which will be replaced with a modular model in the future. This new all-in-one PC is scheduled to ship in coming December starting at $4,999.
