HomePod is the new wireless speaker from Apple

Apple finally invaded the growing field of voice-controlled speakers for the home aptly named the HomePod. The company claims that will reinvent the music in homes like iPod did for music on the go. Like the Google Home and Amazon Echo, this new speaker will play music as well as helping user to manage their homes and lives. Apple details it uses spatial awareness to operate out its location as well as automatically adjust audio depending on where it’s in the room.

Unlike Amazon Echo, this new speaker does not have a screen. It enable you to talk to Siri, while at the home and costs $349.99 — twice the cost of its competing products.



The new smart speaker features a seven-speaker array of tweeters. Furthermore, there is an Apple A8 chip and a 4-inch upward-facing subwoofer. Additionally, two separate HomePods will automatically sync meaning that this is a smart, flexible and intuitive system.

Setup is so simple — just hold an iPhone next to your HomePod, similar to setting up a pair of Apple AirPods. You will also be able to use a pair of HomePods together in a single room for improved sound. This new speaker is also compatible with Apple’s newly announced AirPlay 2 multi-room audio solution, meaning that you will be able to use the speakers together with other HomePods or other AirPlay 2-compatible speakers around your house.

The $349.99 speaker comes in soace gray and white colour options, and will be available in the US, UK, and Australia in December, It’ll be integrated with users’ Apple Music account to play music from it, and the Siri integration enables it to understand queries posed by the users. It’ll be able to interact with other HomeKit devices such as lights, thermostat, and read aloud the news, sports, weather, and set reminders, among other functions.
