Choose The Right Porsche For You By Following These Top Tips

Porsche have produced a wide range of different performance and luxury car models over the years, and millions of people around the world, not just the rich and famous, buy their cars each year.

Porsche

These days, it is possible for the majority of motorists to comfortably afford a Porsche, regardless of whether a brand new or used model is chosen.

If you are thinking about buying an awesome example of German engineering and refinement, and you prefer the Porsche badge to BMW or Mercedes-Benz, here are some amazing tips to help you choose the right one for you!

Which model is right for you?

Inchcape Porsche have advised me that the current Porsche lineup comprises of seven different models:

  • Boxster;
  • Cayman;
  • 911;
  • 918 Spyder;
  • Panamera;
  • Macan;
  • Cayenne.

So, the question is, which one should you choose? The answer depends on why you want to buy a Porsche in the first place!

The Boxster is the cheapest model to buy, with the 918 Spyder only available to the extremely wealthy among us! The 911 is an iconic model that has been in production since 1963, and is usually the model that most people dream of owning someday!

For practicality, there are three models that you could investigate – the Panamera, the Macan and the Cayenne. The first two models are similar in size and styling to the 911, whereas the Cayenne is Porsche’s answer to the BMW X5 and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

If you have a spare €781k (£624k GBP or $1.05 million USD), the Porsche 918 Spyder is the car to buy! The plug-in hybrid supercar features a 4.6-litre V8 engines coupled with two pairs of electric motors to offer a mouthwatering 887 brake horsepower combined!

New or used?

I know that it’s always great to buy brand new cars because you have the honour of telling folks that you’ve owned your car from new, but, for most people, including the wealthy, buying used is a more-attractive proposition.

There are many reasons why it is better to buy used instead of new:

  • Used cars are considerably cheaper than new ones, especially if the used cars in question are at least 12 months old;
  • You don’t suffer from depreciation so much with used cars;
  • Some used cars are technically brand new, and have just been sitting around in the dealer’s showroom for a few months.

Of course, there are also many reasons why you might want to buy a brand new Porsche:

  • You can specify any factory options such as paint colours and equipment;
  • It will have that “new car smell” that many people love;
  • You won’t have to worry about any failing parts because everything in the car is new.

Ongoing costs

One thing that all car owners need to be aware of, not just Porsche owners, is the total cost of ownership.

By that, I mean how much it will realistically cost to service and maintain the car as well as the cost to purchase the car in the first place.
