Bring Your Old Car Into The 21st Century With This Amazing Technology!
Are you rolling around in an old car? If so, you might be feeling envious of people that drive cars newer than yours. Why? Most likely your envy is because they are driving cars with the latest technology and gadgets!
What’s the latest tech your car has as standard? An eight-track player? Power windows? One obvious solution is just to buy a new car. But if you have a sentimental attachment to your pride and joy, you won’t want to part with the love of your life.
But don’t worry because the news isn’t all bad! Did you know that there are plenty of things you can do to bring your old car into the 21st century?
Are you resigning yourself to trading in your car for a newer model at your nearest Hilton Garage? If so, here’s a list of cool tech that you can add to ANY car!
Push-button start
Putting a key into an ignition barrel and turning it to start the car is so 20th century! Many of today’s modern cars have a push-button start system as standard. As the name might suggest, you just push a button to start your car.
Of course, such systems raise some valid security questions. Most people that retrofit push-button start systems also add a wireless transponder system.
In other words, the push-button start system won’t work unless it detects a valid transponder (i.e. key fob) nearby.
Touchscreen display head unit
You might have toyed with the idea of installing a new head unit. But why not go one better and install a touchscreen display head unit?
They are useful for many reasons. First, you can link them up to a satellite navigation system. Some folks even buy ones with DVD players attached so that the front seat passenger can watch a movie whilst you’re driving!
There is a plethora of different touchscreen display head units on the market. The only things that limit you are your budget and technical prowess.
Cruise control
When you buy a new car, or one made within the last five or ten years, it will usually come with cruise control as standard.
The great thing about cruise control is that you can tell your car to drive at a set speed when you’re driving on long roads, such as highways. But you still have to control the car, unless you are travelling in an autonomous car, of course!
Another selling point of cruise control is that it helps you to save money. If you have a heavy right foot, you need to have cruise control fitted to your car immediately!
Rear parking camera
One tech feature that will complement a touchscreen display head unit is a rear parking camera.
When you stick your car in reverse, your display will show you live video footage from the back of your car. It’s a handy system to use if your parallel parking skills leave a lot to be desired!
