5 Tips for Avoiding Dry Hits
Dry hits are the best way to take a relaxing vaping experience into the realm of discomfort and burnt tire smells. To help avoid the dreaded dry hits, keep the following tips in mind when you engage in your next session.
Consider Your Ratios
Your PG and VG ratios can impact your chances of getting a dry hit. Juices that have high VG ratios have a higher chance of dirtying your coil up quickly, resulting in a bad tasting dry hit. These thicker high VG ratios also take longer to properly soak the cotton on your coil, which can result in you getting a dry hit if you do not give your e-liquid adequate time to absorb into the wick. You can learn more about alternative ratios, such as 50/50 blends, by doing a little research at online retailers.
Always Prime
You can help protect yourself against dry hits even when smoking e-liquids with high VG by taking the time to always prime your wicks and coils. Issue a few drops of e-liquid onto the cotton and give it time to fully saturate. Priming your coils will also help ensure that your coils last longer.
Watch Your Wattage
If your wattage is set too high, you run a risk of getting a dry hit due to your wick overheating. Run your wattage at the lowest setting you’re comfortable with.
Avoid Chain Vaping
Chain vaping can result in your device overheating which can cause you to get a dry hit. Take breaks in between your hits to give your device time to cool down.
Keep Your Tank Full
Keep an eye on your tank and don’t let it hit empty. Try to refill your tank before it can drop below a third full.
By incorporating the following tips into your vaping sessions, you can help keep the feared dry hits at bay.
