New Ford Fiesta

The Ford Fiesta is a sedan launched in the C segment of the Indian market by the Ford India in 2004. This internationally acclaimed car has been given a facelift in 2009. Due to comparatively high prices the vehicle could not compete with the rivals in the market. The Fiesta has been given yet another facelift recently. The New Ford Fiesta has been launched in June 2014.

The New Ford Fiesta comes in three diesel variants the Ambiente, the Trend and the Titanium. All the variants have manual transmission. The Fiesta is priced Rupees 8.50 to 10.19 lakh. There are no petrol variants for the Fiesta.

The New Fiesta comes in colours of panther black, smoke grey, moon dust silver, golden bronze, paprika red and diamond white. The front fascia similar to that of the Ford EcoSport has a radiator grille with 4 chrome slats and chrome surrounds flanked by foxy eyed twin chamber head light fittings that flow to the back of the hood and the new bumper. The side profile will have aerodynamic creases, new wheels and covers and body coloured electrical ORVMs with turn indicators. The new rear bumper with a chrome strip and new rear lamp fittings will give a premium look to the Titanium variant.

The New Fiesta has a comfortable and spacious cabin with a lot of leg room for the front passengers. The basic features of the Ambiente include 1 air bag, ABS, EBD, a manual AC, power steering with tilt adjustment, fabric upholstery, full folding rear seat and Electric ORVMs. The top Titanium variant has 2 air bags, a 2 Din music system, an automatic AC, leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, reverse parking sensors, a keyless entry, rain sensing wipers, push buttons for start/stop and a 2 Din music system.

The Ford fiesta engines have the top fuel efficiency in the segment. The car is powered by a 1.5L, 90 bhp and 204 NM torque TDI engine which gives mileages of 25.01 kmpl. The car takes 9.3 sec for 0 to 100 kmph acceleration and the top speed is 169 kmph.

The dimensions of the Fiesta are 4320 mm length, 1764 mm width and 156 mm ground clearance. The boot space is 430 litres. The suspensions are independent McPherson struts with coil springs and anti roll bar at the front and semi independent torsion beams with twin gas and oil filled shock absorbers at the rear.

The NewFiesta performs well with good mileages on the busy city roads and also on the highways. The competition comes from the cars like the Maruti Swift Dzire, the Hyundai Verna 4S Fluidic, the Skoda Rapid and the Honda Amaze.
