Mercedes-Benz Unveiled A New Electric Car Concept, Vision Mercedes-Maybach

Mercedes-Benz is finally getting into the electric car game, with reported plans to roll out a line of battery-powered offerings by the end of the year. This is the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 and Mercedes says it’s a throwback to the ‘glorious age of the aero coupes.’ This 18.5-foot long 2+2 concept makes its debut this last month at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Vision Mercedes-Maybach Design:

This new vehicle is a mix of ‘sensual purity’ and ‘aerodynamic efficiency’ according to Daimler AG design lead Gorden Wagener. Mercedes notes that the Vision 6 is an equal mix of ‘hot’ with emotional design and ‘cold’ with so-called intelligent details.

Vision Mercedes-Maybach Specs:

The Vision 6 has a massive 750-horsepower engine that has a range of about 200 miles on a single charge, and can hit 60 mph in under 4 sec. It can also charge up to a range of about 60 miles in 5 minutes—much more efficient than the average quick-charging cellphone—so you’ll never have to worry about the range anxiety as you drive from Davos to Monaco, or wherever the 1% need to get to these days.

Vision Mercedes-Maybach Interior:

Luxury gets a modern makeover inside, too. Entry is via vast gullwing doors – Mercedes also has previous here, of course – and the occupants are treated to a 360 degree lounge experience. The inner door trim effectively becomes dashboard, and while the seats mimic a Chesterfield sofa in a stately home, the digital display flows across windscreen and into the side of the car.

The interior is also psychometric, ‘body sensor displays’ within seat leather monitoring the occupants’ vital functions to automatically adjust the cabin temperature or begin massaging. Yes, the Maybach is not just a mobile chiropractor, it can tell when you’ve had a difficult day.
