Koova 2 Is A Portable Robotic Camera With 2-Way Audio

Meet Koova 2: a smart portable robotic security camera with auto tracking and face recognition that helps you keep an eye on your home or place of business. It relies on a dual-core processor to perform real-time video analysis to recognize faces and track intruders. It just uses 256-bit encryption to protect your privacy. This robot is powered by a USB connection. It comes with an audio and motion sensor. You can also define activity and blockout zones to reduce false alarms.

The device has 240-degree tracking. You can remotely pan and zoom the camera. It’s also possible to setup activity and blockout zones to monitor certain areas and reduce false alarm. Did we mention that Koova 2 is compatible with Apple Watch and Pebble?

Koova 2 also has facial recognition software that allows it to work as both a smart home monitor and a baby monitor. It includes an intruder alarm, real-time two-way talk, intruder warning lights, zoom and remote pan, and audio and motion sensors. Amaryllo, the company creating the device, says that it has strong encryption to prevent Internet of Things (IoT) hacking that plagued some consumers recently.

The camera robot allows for minimal greetings and can use human speech to ward off intruders. It uses facial recognition function in order to determine if someone belongs in the home or not. The controls are powered by a smartphone application, and alerts are sent to the phone and through email.

The Koova 2 is available to back via Kickstarter and is available from $159 for earlybird backers with shipping expected to take place during January 2017.
