Asus ZenPad Z8 Is A Sleek Tablet With A Killer Camera

ASUS has taken the wraps off the new ZenPad Z8, which will join the Zenpad Family U.S. lineup this fall. The new device keeps with Asus’ low prices — it will retail for $249.99.

Asus makes good looking tablets, and the ZenPad Z8 is no exception. The body is slim and sleek, while a minimalistic shell keeps it looking modern. It’s just over 7mm thick and weighs 320g, which is a little thicker and heavier than an iPad Mini 4, which has the same 7.9-inch size screen.

The ZenPad Z8 tablet has a 7.9-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. Internals include a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 SoC with an Adreno 510 GPU. There are 2 gigabyte of RAM and 16 gigabyte of expandable internal storage, a microSD card slot supporting cards up to 128 gigabyte. There is also a camera on board, but as is typical with tablets, it is nothing special and only has a 2 megapixel sensor.

Other features include dual front facing speakers with DTS-HD support, that should deliver excellent audio experience. There is also a USB Type-C connector, 4G LTE support, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and the whole thing weighs in at 320 grams. As per official specs, its battery should last up to 13 hours.

The ZenPad Z8 can be ordered from Verizon’s website at the source link for $249 full retail or alternatively $149.99 on a 2 year contract or $10.41 a month over two years. However, units will be available starting June 23.
